Today for writing we are still doing the same thing for writing but this time we worked with the 2 words Alitiration and Hyperbole.

ALITIRATION

The meaning of Alitiration is when you are writing a scentance and you are reapeting the same letter in every word.

HYPERBOLE

The meaning of Hyperbole is when you are ove exagerating things.

I am learning to use figurative language more often.

Wahine Toa

 

Yesterday we went to room 11 and helped Adele with the special kids and they are really smart. So after Adele sorted them out she told us that we were going to do some gardening and i was pretty exited to garden.
When we got outside we put on 1 glove eatch and we got some gardening tools but i am not sure of what it is exactly called.
So after we did that we started to just clan the garden up a little bit and adele tought us how to do her kind of gardening so we grabed our tool dig in wherever you find a small green plant and when you pull it out you have to pull it really hard and then when it does come out you will see that it was a root.
After pulling out the root you have to just chuck that in the plastic.

We didn't take long gardening because we got tired and sweaty because of the hotness outside.

What i enjoyed at Wahine toa was helping the special kids and my favorite kid was Alasana, Alasana was the youngest in room 11 and her was 7 years old.
Alasana was the most active out of all of them.

What i disliked in wahine toa was the hottness that everyone had to deal with but eventually we had to go back inside.

Writing

Today for Writing we learned how to use more figurative words.

We learned the definition of Personification,Onomatopoeia,Similes and Metaphors.
I'll start by explaining what the meaning of Personification is, Personification means When you are giving human qualities to nonhuman things.

ONOMATOPOEIA

The meaning of Onomatopoeia is when you describe words that involve sound effects or to create sounds with words.

SIMILIES

A Simile is when you use a sentence and there are 2 things and they both have something in common.

METAPHOR

The meaning of a Metaphor is when you compare 2 things and they aren't the same thing.

During the lesson with Ms Komor i learned how to use figurative words and how to explain it. 

I am learning to use 2 language features.

Wahine Toa

On Monday I went with the Wahine Toa girls and Kelly to help the teaches with the students that has special needs and Over there at Room 11 we do Activities and craft. So one of the craft we did was to create a leprechaun with paint,Scissors,paper.
When arrived to room 11 we started to make leprechauns and first we have to paint our palm and fingers orange and put your hand on the paper and there will be an orange hand on the paper after that the teachers gave us papers with a leprechaun hat on it so we cut the hat out and we glued it on the bottom of the orange hand and when you turn it upside down you will have a leprechaun and just add eyes.
After all that it will look like this.

Technology-cooking

Pasta salad

Today we made pasta salad in the pasta salad there was Tomato,Macaroni,Ham and mixed veggies

In cooking when we cook the pasta we had to get the pot and boil the macaroni and wait till it is soft but while it is boiling you have to keep on mixing the macaroni while your partner is doing that you have to get the Tomatoes and slice it then you dice it and leave it there because you will be putting it in raw.
After that you will have to get the ham and slice it and dice it just like the tomatoes.
 Then you'll have to get a fry pan and put it on the stove and warm it up and make sure that you don't burn it because it is already cooked so you are just warming it up.
After you warm the ham up the macaroni should be soft by then so you can stop boiling it and tip the water out.
Once you have done that you can now put it in the bowl and eat.

STEPS:

Step 1- Boil 1 1/2 c of water
2- Add Macaroni
3- When it cook, drain under cold water
Step 2 1- Fry the ham first
2- Add macaroni and mix it with mayo
3- Serve on small White Bowl

Tennis reflection

Today for Tennis we learned 2 techniques i'm sure and one of them is the smash. So your partner will have the tennis ball and you will have the Racket then when you hold your Tennis racket you will need to hold it up high with one hand and when you hit the ball you have to hit softly and when our Tennis couch showed us how to do it i thought that it was going to be pretty hard but no it was actually really soft and we barely did anything because he just holds the racket up high and hits it softly.

This is a photo of my friend Kensington and he is holding the racket up high and he is waiting for the tennis ball to hit the racket.

What i enjoyed about tennis is the part when we got to play a actual tennis game and whoever hits the ball on the ground loses.

What i didn't like in Tennis is that whenever my partner hits the ball really hard i would have to get it and she'd have to do the same.

But rather then that i really enjoyed Tennis.

The reason why we were playing Tennis in the is because Peter thought that it would rain because the Siclon would come so we played it in the hall but we hope next time we can play outside on the courts.

Technology-Cooking

Today i have just finished my Technology Reflection about what we made and what we did in Cooking.

At cooking we made Vanilla muffins and my buddies that i made the Muffins with is Alo and Leilani.

When we were making the muffins we all made sure that we had at least something to do so when were making the Vanilla muffins Alo was getting the Ingredients and Leilani got the wet Ingredients and when they came back i put the dry and wet ingredients together and mixed it so while i was mixing Alo was doing the dishes Leilani was preheating the Oven and the last step was to Put the batter into the muffin tray and leilani put the tray in the oven.

While the Muffins are in the oven you have to get something to poke it with to see if it is cooked.
So when you poke it you have to make sure that it doesn't stick to the stick because if it does stick to it then it is not ready.

Wahine toa

Today we have just come back from a group called Wahine toa and it is a group of girls that teachers think are shy and this program helps with boosting you confidence and it helps you discover some of your talents. One of the talents that i have discovered is that i am actually good at art my friends say that i am good at art because i like to be creative and use different rather than drawing with a pencil and painting with a paint brush. One funny thing that i found out about my friend Taonga is that she is a perfectionist because at Wahine toa we were painting our nails and Taonga had to make it perfect and before she does our nails she always says "When i do your nails you have to stay still okay" to every single person that she does.

When we went to Wahine toa one of the Kiwi can leader bought us a bag full of things that can help you with your skin to keep it healthy and not just things for skin but also for your hair and i find these things really helpful.
So in the bag there is...

1. Paw paw and coconut cream (Use to heal bruises,Rashes,Sores and other things)

2. Sheet Mask (Don't know the use of it)

3. Butter soap (Use to wash your body)

4. Wipes (Use to wash face in morning)

5. Deodorant (Use to make armpit smell good)

6. Coconut oil spray (Use to smell nice

7.Scrubber (Use to scrub  body with soap)

7. Brush (Use to unknot hair)

So those are the things in the bags that we got from one of the Kiwi can leaders I am really grateful for this because i needed it.😁

What i learned in Wahine toa is that you have to make sure that you have to take care of your skin,hair and body.

Maths test

Today I have just finished doing a math test.

Questions i found easy in this math test was the questions were they asked me what percentage is the number.

The questions that i have found very challenging was when i had to count how many points did the netball team score because they scored 90,89,76 and 80 points for there team in 4 games.

What I think I need to improve on in maths is trying to work hard as i can and try not to talk during the math test.

I am learning to improve on my division and problem solving.
